A Late Blogpost of What Happened Last November 15 2008

Basta basta... da ako mapalagay kung di ko to ma popost..

it;'s so strange for me not to remember recent dates... 2nd thing, i wrote because my instincts told me so. (duh nonsense statements ayt??)

what made this day very very special is that it's he first time i've ever watched a live collegiate basketball game... to mention, it's actually FAR EASTERN UNIVERSITY vs XAVIER UNIVERSITY- ATENEO DE CAGAYAN. I happen to meet some "CAWALING" on jersey no. 15 and the very tall and Charming no. 11 named "Sanga" hahah.. ok i'll try to detail out what happened that day..

MORNING

i was kind of hestitant to join the said workshop for the NSTP concert this coming JANUARY 10 2009. Number 1 reason is that i intentionally woke up late (tapul tapul tapul).. quite around 09:00 am!!
But then my atenean-formed-Conscience bugged me so i got dressed up and rushed with a fast Jeep going to school. When i got there, again, hesitations clanged to my thoughts in entering the Little Theater! I'm super duper Late!!! Duh.. soo much for this very embarrassing portion...

ok, shoot... adto mi MAGIC KAN-ANAn( free endorsement oh) for lunch. After that, we did our first ever blogs for COMMUNICATION..(Oh yeah now i remember.. twas the same day!! silly me!!)

adto mi gaisano with Ching, jane, kim, han and Boyd!

Ug sa dihang gipang pul-an namig Gaisano..
Ug sa Dihang grabe ka puno ang gym!!! But we were lucky enough to find good samaritans to offer their benches for us... WOOOOO. The Game Started atlast!!

As soon as it ended (duh i dont wanna narrate games as much i dont like mentioning things i dunno), i reallly really jumped on the terracing of the upper box just to have an instant teleportation to the lowe box! My reason: GET A PICTURE OF MR. SANGA <3 !!!!
istyuped!! yet i was soo lucky to him by my side to have flicks sooner as i reached the court.
Pa picture mi nk KIMMER sa iya.. yii

Wooh.. kapoi au oie. We walked through D.V. Soria in search for a vehicle home..
Senday suggested the gang should sip a lil drink (palamig) as his treat of gaining a free entrance. BAARRRPPP (kimmer).

Everybody's tired and atat to go home already!!
Wala untay magpasakay sa akua pero nay nag offer!! oie!! GUESS WHO!?
15 mins after, niabot rajud ang jeep for bugo...

TSADA AU NA DAY!!

hey hey, i'm confused (la bajo o les tyrante?). ambvoot!! ♥♫♥

THE JOINT PHOTO EXHIBIT OF DEVELOPMENT COMMUNICATION SOCIETY AND PEACE AND CONFLICT JOURNALISM NETWORK (PECOJON)

The Development Communication Society and the Development Communication Department in partnership with the Peace and Conflict Journalism Network (PECOJON) organized a joint photo exhibit entitled “Mindanao War” and
“Lansad 2” last December 8-12, 2008. The launching, held at the XU-ADC STC Building's Lobby was graced by prestigious and award winning photojournalists of the country.

INSIGHTS

The first apartment of the lobby showed different photos sized approximately 36 x 24 inches, black in background and graced with white text color and bold Arial font were posted. these were photos taken by those photojournalists..

What caught my attention was the photo labeled, "Fears in Their Faces". It showed a scene of a family with their padre de familia peeping through the "doorless" portal of their home. The title caught my interest on how the journalist captured that photo. Superb i may say that the photo was real as the fear in the Father's face traced the portrait of real fear, and not just soap opera dramas.

REALIZATIONS

Amazing! A lot of people nowadays are still concerned of informing people of what we are going through! They'd even risk their own lives just to take flicks of very dangerous events in the manner of not minding self profit or glory.
God gave us the passion, talent and resources-- exclusively for us-- to effectively be DEVELOPMENT COMMUNICATORS-- ones who strive for development and positive social change.
The photo inspired me to go on with my course, not just because of the bright future it may give me, but the very love of making a stand, take risks, make change and break bondage of chaos.

Of all the eight MDG's, What struck me most?

It's so pleasing for the ear and relinquishing to the soul that somehow, there are still a lot of people longing to implement development and goes 'thumbs up' for very lovely changes for the betterment of the world. xD

The one I'm talking about is what my teacher and classmates discussed for the past few weeks in DC 1 class...
==> the Millennium Development Goals set by the United Nation's Organization.
To mention, here are the goals

+Goal 1: Eradicating extreme poverty and hunger

+Goal 2: Achieving universal primary education

+Goal 3: Promoting gender equality and empowering women

+Goal 4: Reducing child mortality

+Goal 5: Improving maternal health

+Goal 6: Combating HIV /AIDS, malaria and other diseases

+Goal 7: Ensuring environmental sustainability

+Goal 8: Developing global partnerships for development

Of all these, the very goal that blew me off my seat and my very heart is the goal that says " Reduce Child Mortality"

Based on data from the Technical Working Group on Maternal and Child Mortality, under-five mortality rate (U5MR) was 80 deaths per 1,000 live births for 1990. This rate declined to 48 in 1998 and to 42 in 2003. In 2006, using results of the Family Planning Survey (FPS) of NSO, the rate fell down further to 32 deaths per 1,000 live births. For the period 1990-2006, the decline was about 60 percent. This suggests a high likelihood of meeting the target of 26.7 deaths per 1,000 live births by 2015. (http://www.undp.org.ph/target05.php)

Imagine a lot of moms in the world who'd mourn all because their children died of some very preventable disease, only that they had no enough resources.

Those children could have lived. those children could have played and enjoyed life.
Those children could' have been our friends. Those children could have studied and been the best presidents in Asia or in the world!
See how much the world missed by letting those children die in pain just because of preventable diseases?

Our country is indeed 'over populated'. But heck do we care? If these over populating shenanigans would then be the only way to let our hearts wake up of the reality that development is just within reach, if we start it with ourselves.
A little help gives a life.

That goal may have been very powerful to let me feel this unexplainable emotion. But one best thing's for sure.. it managed me to live this life out of it. To move and help. To stop and ponder. And to go for development.

What is Development?

Development

===> something you or I could do to bring positive social change.

For me, it's something that everybody longs to go through.
i personally want to freely develop some areas in my life, not to mention all the failures I've gone through. It's a special and natural process of discerning what is the right thing to do in a certain community's situation.

I should love development...

What is Communication?

How did God started making the life of His people?

Simple...

Communication answers it all.

Communication is life.

It's where God started it all.

It's how i express my loved ones how I Feel.

It's how i breathe, live and show the world who i am and who i wanna be...
